About Bryan

Bryan Daisley is a singer-songwriter (and much more) from Seattle who writes soulful originals along the outer range of country and folk. He played with The Dark Horses in Gig Harbor from 2011 to 2019, The Bryan Daisley Band (BDB) in Seattle from 2021 to 2023 and now plays in Dear Ellinore starting in 2025. Bryan has written four albums that are currently only available on Bandcamp .  Bryan is also passionate about singing opera, studying as a bass-baritone since 2022 and working toward more musical adventures in that realm.  There's much more to come with Bryan's music. Whether he's starting bands or writing musicals, his interests are diverse and there's always something in the works. Stay tuned.

New EP: THE ABLE SEAMEN, VOL. 1

It is one of those rare, unplanned EPs. It started when a friend said he'd come over next Saturday. Then we thought it might be funny to sing a couple sea shanties when he came out. Then we thought we'd invite a couple other old friends to join. Then, when they actually said yes, Bryan went all-in and decided that he'd write original shanties for the occasion. By the time Saturday night came around, we had four new originals and a few hours to kill. Nobody had heard anything before they arrived. The result is sloppy, funny, pitchy, heartfelt and really exactly what makes a sea shanty special. They are for the voices of average working men, and last Saturday that's what we were. As for the songs themselves, they pull on themes that are traditional to the genre and on the surface hopefully they are playful and enjoyable. But as you dive a little deeper,  The Captain's Gone Mad  may remind you of the frustration of not trusting the captain at the helm (read the news th...

New Band: Dear Ellinore

After a couple years off since The Bryan Daisley Band, I'm finally back and ready to perform original rock again. Introducing  Dear Ellinore ,  I'm excited, but to get to this point I had to learn some important -and sometimes painful- lessons along the way:  Lesson 1: Use a band name. Using my real name for a band was very uncomfortable, at least for me, to the point where I eventually delisted all my songs on streaming services since they won't allow you to change your artist name after publishing. This time the band has its own name and the two of us are separate things. We'll publish songs again when they're ready. Lesson 2:  Keep it simple .  With only three musicians, one of whom who is an old friend, there's much less to manage. Scheduling is easy, communication is easy, decisions are easy. Burnout is real when managing a band! Lesson 3: Keep it focused .  Dear Ellinore was created to be a one-set band that shares bills with other bands. It's an outl...

Album 3: EMBERS IN RESPONSE

Embers in Response (Acoustic EP) by Braindazy   This one started as an experiment: what would happen if I withdrew for a year and played and recorded every instrument myself? The result was raw, dark, and eclectic. This collection of songs--some might call them demos--represents most of what I put together in that year. In addition to the usual guitar, it has banjo, accordion, trumpet, piano, organ, upright bass, cajon, shaker, tambourine, and a shanty-like choir of bass-baritone voices. Following the love songs of Cathedral, Embers is a break-up album in all respects, both in subject matter and in style. Burn it all down!  LISTEN ON BANDCAMP Released November 19, 2024 SONGS by Bryan Daisley PRODUCED by Bryan Daisley RECORDED at Braindaizy Studio MIXED by Bryan Daisley MASTERED by Kevin Younkins ALBUM ART Photography and Cover Design by Addi and Bryan Daisley

Album 2: CATHEDRAL

Cathedral was an exploration of the idea of a love song. Taken together, the album works as a collection of stories over the arc of a single romantic relationship--falling in love, working on it, renewing, sustaining, appreciating, and eventually losing each other to time.  Cathedral (Complete) by THE BDB This exclusive Bandcamp  release combines the original Cathedral LP and its follow-on EP, Lovers and Fools. They were originally intended to be one LP, but got separated due to impatience. Bringing them together at last. Songs from this album were performed by The Bryan Daisley Band (BDB) in 4 to 7-piece rock band instrumentation from 2021 to 2023. Even though these recordings aren't exactly as they were performed, they do include performances from each of the band members, and as a tribute to their talents, the album is being released under the abbreviated band name. Album 1: FROM DUST

After decades of writing songs and keeping them secret, Bryan went public with this debut album, From Dust , co-produced with his close collaborator, Jack Parker. Featuring a hard, broken, country landscape with a variety of trials to face, From Dust bypasses popular country tropes in search of deeper purpose and meaning in the countryside.
